Interview Questions to Ask photo/video vendors

Are you available for my wedding day or wedding weekend?

Who will be my primary point of contact and what is the best form of communication with that individual?

Describe your ideal client. Describe your ideal client.  (this gives you an understanding of what they like in clients)

Can you bring a second shooter to our events? (Very important on wedding day, a nice to have on previous events)

Have you had experience shooting Indian weddings? Can I see the work? (If you haven’t reviewed on their website or social media)

When would you arrive for set up?

How long does it take to get images/video back to us?

What is included in the package?

Ask about these items:

  • Engagement session hours
  • Second Shooter
  • Drone coverage (for video)
  • Album (photo) – remember that albums can be pricey so if you are budget conscious, you may opt to do an album later
  • Photo booth
  • Will we get all the high resolution images/raw footage after the wedding?

What is your cancellation policy?

What is your payment policy?

What equipment do you bring on event day?

How do you handle guests with fancy cameras and mobile phone videographers on wedding day?

How do you backup files? How often do you backup files on wedding day?

Consider the needs you will have for your entire wedding weekend when hiring your photographer and videographer, so that you have an idea of what you want before interviewing.
